(Teaching Chinese as a Second Language,簡稱TCSL),在全球各地迅速推展。
1. Specialization in Teaching and Research
Chinese is one of the oldest and most content-rich languages in the world. Furthermore, in the future, Chinese is expected to become a common language for a quarter of the global population. A wave of enthusiasm for the Chinese language is sweeping across the globe. The demand for learning the Chinese language among people worldwide is increasing day by day, making Chinese language learning a global trend. In recent years, the teaching of Chinese as a second language (TCSL) has rapidly expanded globally.
Our center places equal emphasis on teaching, research, and teacher training. To elevate the learning and teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, we have developed refined teaching materials. Our small class sizes, with 6-8 students per class, allow students to systematically learn Chinese and receive training from excellent Chinese language professionals. This, in turn, contributes to a broader perspective in academic research and cultural exchange in our country.
2. Diversification of Teaching Materials and Curriculum
Teaching materials are a fundamental basis for instruction and have a significant impact on the curriculum and teaching methods. Currently, there is still room for development in Chinese language learning materials. At our institution, we not only focus on Chinese language teaching and the improvement of Chinese language courses but also devote ourselves to the development of Chinese language learning materials. We provide instruction in both Zhuyin (Taiwanese Phonetic) and Hanyu Pinyin, and we teach both traditional and simplified Chinese characters. This approach allows our curriculum to be diverse and contributes to a more robust expansion of the Chinese language market worldwide.
3. Globalization of Activities and Exchange
Chinese is the most widely spoken language in the world and is also one of the six official languages of the United Nations. In today's rapidly globalizing world, where distances between people and nations have shortened, communication between human populations is becoming increasingly frequent. The rise of Chinese businesses has stimulated a wave of enthusiasm for learning Chinese. As a result, the importance of teaching Chinese as a foreign language has significantly increased. The effectiveness of teaching Chinese as a foreign language is now a key benchmark for competitiveness in the international Chinese language education market.
In addition to developing refined and diversified curriculum instruction, our center aspires to become a hub for Chinese language learning in Southern Taiwan. Therefore, we will organize a variety of international exchange activities and engage in cross-cultural research with countries worldwide to expand the scope of Chinese language education.
